and as the 2005 comes to a close, i reflect on all the fortune and misfortune that the year brought to me and the people i care about. i always love watching those news montages where they have clips of all of the significant things that happened this year but since my new apartment doesn’t have cable hooked up yet, i thought i’d reminiss on my own (as i watch indiana jones and the temple of doom on dvd). 2005 was a great year for me. it started off with my best friends listening to the killers in la, i rode more than 1000 miles on my road bike that i put together, and rode in 4 major events, one with takako on a tandem for 50 miles that i also put together. i made some new good friends, and became closer with many of my old friends. i met takako’s parents, and they seemed to like me well enough, eric and i bought a new boat, and i learned how to wakeboard and spent most of my summer out on the water, and i’ve never had a better tan :) i did well in all my classes, and am very slowly but surely bringing the college debacle to an end. i intentionally gained 15lbs and hit the gym harder this year than i ever have with the help of dave and costin, and a series of personal things went better than expected.

of course for america and the world at large, there’s been better years. the year started off with the recovery from the tsunamis in south east asia, acts of terrorism are still occuring around the globe, the war in iraq, while slowly making progress is claiming scores of lives a day, the hurricanes wiped out entire cities and killed and displaced thousands, and nick and jessica broke up.

i really look forward to the new year, especially since i get to spend new year’s eve with taka. i hope you all have a great year next year. costin was telling me about actually writing down resolutions in an attempt to actually make them happen… i think that’s a great idea. cheers homies!

it’s nice being off work for such a long stretch of time. i’ve just been lounging around and going to the gym. i’ve been playing sonic the headgehog 1 and 2 since ben bought me the collectors version for the ps2. i saw ‘the chronicles of narnia’ which i strangely loved and keep thinking about. maybe i was just in a weird mood or something, ’cause i usually don’t like those types of flicks. i’m also dying to see that movie with johnny knoxville where he enters the special olympics. oh, and tomorrow i’m moving, i’m picking up the u-haul at 8 if anyone wants to come by and help out. this morning i took the boat out with eric and we fished for a few hours. he caught a nice sized sandbass, and i strangely caught 3 sea urchins… the boat’s in great shape though (knock on wood), i can’t wait for summer to kick back up, ’cause it was damn cold today out on the water, even though the waves were nice and we fished in real open water. my birthday’s coming up pretty soon too (monday, january 2nd)… i think i’m going to do the standard issue kentomatic.com dinner and bowling at luckstrike at the block, and anyone that reads this is definitely invited.

the o.c. is moving to the 9p time slot on thursdays, leaving no room for even the last 4 recorded episodes, let alone the 9 we need to know what the fuck actually happened. also, all reference to reunion on the fox website, including the message board is gone. anyway, so here’s a big ‘fuck you’ fox, for being dickless imbreds.

and i was pissed, ’cause i was dressed and ready for ‘chest day’ the best gym day of the week. i turn the car on, it’s fine for a second, and then dies… i do it again and again, and i’m like ‘fuck’! so i pop the hood, reset the ecu, nothing. reset the tps sensor, nothing (’cause it sounded like it was having trouble getting air), checked plugs and wires, fluids, terminals, anything i could without special tools with no luck. i get back in the car all pissed, and realize i’ve got no gas! i guess when i drove home earlier, it was the last few drops that brought me to my parking space. so i rang my good pal big game james and in a few mins he rolled up, we rolled to the gas station, i bought a couple gallons, came home, filled up, and made it to the gym! it was like a christmas miracle.
