superman returns

me, ben and mike did margarita tuesday to coincide with the midnight-ish release of superman returns. we were expecting mad lines, but they played it in two theatres, both which were only about half full, so i guess at least at the amc marina pacifica, they didn’t sell as many tickets as they (or i) expected them to.

the movie was pretty fun, i actually fell asleep for about 15 mins through some boring lovey scenes (but i’ve been fighting a cold, and had a couple margaritas in me), but ben dutifully woke me up once the excitement got back on track. kevin spacey was rad, and i could’ve used a lot more of him in the movie… otherwise there was very little dialogue, or interaction between any of the characters. lex was doing his bad things, superman was doing his good things, and they only shared the screen in one or two scenes. so yeh, fun movie. had i not seen it on opening night with the guys a little drunk it probably would’ve been less fun… but that’s the magic of margarita movies.

viagra w/o a prescription is a 2nd degree misdemeanor?

rush limbaugh got busted at a florida airport for having a bottle of viagra w/o his name on the prescription. apparently the name of the prescription was of his doctor for privacy purposes:

A doctor had prescribed the drug, but it was “labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh for privacy purposes,” Roy Black, Limbaugh’s attorney, said in a statement.

haha, well everyone knows you got a limp dick now rushy! anyway, i’m going to have to be more discreet when flying with viagra from now on =p he wasn’t charged and his pills were only confiscated, but the airport police plan to file a report with the DA and charges might eventually be brought up against him. haha… brought up.

wakeboarding, a complete documentary

on saturday we took the boat out for some wakeboarding and it was a helluva day. it was supposed to be 90F+ the last i heard earlier in the week, but it ended up being in the mid-70s with mad cloud coverage. we made the best of it, but nothing went as smoothly as it could’ve. the boat was filled to capacity, with me, shali, mike, costin, dave, his buddy avi, my dad’s friend eri, and her friend jess. the first hiccup, other than the unexpectedly cold weather was that when i tried to fire the boat, it didn’t crank, and i realized we had left an accessory pump running the last time which drained the battery. not wanting to lose any time mike and i ran across the street and bought a new battery… pricey :( but whatever, so we get out on the water, and pick up eri at another dock and i get one run in. her friend jess shows up, so we go back to the dock to pick her up, and we do a couple hours of runs…

we start running low on fuel, so we go to fuel up, and drop shali off since she wanted to bounce. we get back to the stadium to do some more runs, but the boat chokes up and won’t fire :( :( :( after some rowing, we get some folks to tow us back to the dock. as soon as we make it there, the fucking boat fires and starts running fine. stupid wacky dieseling, carb flooding bs…

we clean up the boat and go to acapulco to get some food and drinks. dinner was another ordeal where we got some fucked up service and dave complained so the entire meal was comped. overall it was tons of fun, but just one thing after another. anyway i’m sure we’ll be out there a few times this 4 day weekend. eri’s friend jess played the token asian tourist, and took 138 fucking pictures, so if you have a few hours, here ya go:

how not to choose a domain name

All of these are legitimate companies dealing in regular products and services, but what were they (or not) thinking when they chose their domain names? Take note of their ‘Domain Names.’

Some of them are prime candidates for the “What was I thinking?” Award!

1). A site called ‘Who represents’ where you can find the name of The agent that represents a celebrity. Their domain name is: www.whorepresents.com

2). ‘Experts Exchange’, a knowledge base where programmers can Exchange advice and views at: www.expertsexchange.com

3). Looking for a pen ???? Look no further than ‘Pen Island’ at: www.penisland.net

4) Need a ‘therapist’ ???? Try ‘Therapist Finder’ at: www.therapistfinder.com

5). Then of course, there’s the ‘ Italian Power Generator Company’ - www.powergenitalia.com

6). And now, we have the Mole Station Native Nursery, based in New South Wales: www.molestationnursery.com

7). If you’re looking for computer software, there’s always www.ipanywhere.com

8). Welcome to the First Cumming Methodist Church. Their website is www.cummingfirst.com

9). Then, of course, there’s these brainless art designers, and their whacky website: www.speedofart.com

10). Want to holiday in Lake Tahoe ?????? Try their brochure website at: www.gotahoe.com

wtf? half of cnn.com headlines are of random people who died

patsy ramsey is highest on the list. she’s the woman who with her husband probably beath their daughter JonBenet to death and then made it look like a sexual crime committed by a random intruder. while they could never find enough evidence to prosecute the parents, it sure seemed like they had a hand in it. anyway, karma is a bitch, eh, patsy? <3

tv guru aaron spelling kicked last night, and so did the man who was fighting anna nicole smith for her late husband’s fortune… i guess it’s gonna be an easier fight for her now that he’s dead :)

also on the top 10 list of headlines on cnn.com is the death of harriet, the 176 year old tortoise that supposedly was owned by charles darwin. poor turtle.

anyway death is in the air, so stay indoors guys. or go drunken boating, or something.

pictures from north korea

these pics from a russian tourist are awesome. the dprk is shrouded in such secrecy, and i’ve never seen such candid pics of the country. it looks like they’re stuck in 1950, and the subject of a bizzare twighlight zone episode:

i hate outsourced customer service

i, more than most people have a talent at understanding broken english, especially from asian countries, but lately i’ve had a hell of a time understanding some of the customer service people i’ve spoken with. last week, along with my laptop, i ordered a 2gb memory stick that i decided to return since i found it for about half the price on another site. the indian? lady that was assisting me, was very friendly and helpful, but i couldn’t for the life of me understand the details of what she was saying. it literally took 10 minutes for me to understand what the address was for me to return the memory stick to, and i’m still not sure if it’s going to ever get there. she said she’d send me an email with the information in it, but i never got one… then today she called and left a message asking if i had sent the package, and she would also send me an email and reply to that (since i don’t have her direct number)… anyway, i never got that email either. i’m sure she wrote my email address down wrong as i spelled it out :\
