call of duty 4: modern warfare… finished

cod4logo.jpg

wow, call of duty 4 was awesome but super short! i sat down about 3 times to play, each time for less than 2 hours. anyway short, but sweet. the gameplay was amazing, especially the level where you’re wearing the ghillie camouflage suits and sniping. i just wish the game was a bit longer. hopefully the online game will keep me playing.

a murder of crows, a knot of toads… wtf?

eric and i were talking about a simpsons episode where homer was talking about a “murder of crows.” we weren’t sure if that was real, or just a homer-ism, so we looked it up. turns out that not only is a group of crows called a “murder” but there are hundreds of collective nouns that sound crazy and make no sense. sound intelligent to chicks in bars and learn them all.

here are some of my favorites:

bury of conies
cover of coots
passel of possum
rhumba of rattlesnakes
unkindness of ravens
mischief of rats

check out the entire list: [fun with words: collective nouns]

well, it’s official. i’m moving to the south bay

yep, after living within the boundaries of tha lbc for my entire life, i’m moving north to the south bay. we signed the rental agreement today and will be moving in february 1st. taka and i will both be much closer to work, and i’ll effectively have an extra 2 hours (that i used to spend in traffic) a day or almost 2 complete extra days a month.

gardena’s a bit ghetto, but it’s not that much worse than where i live now and the particular area we’re moving to is mostly just old people like my dad, who lives less than a mile away. it’s also just a block away from a huge japanese shopping center with lots of japanese stores and restaurants, which’ll make taka’s shopping easier, and my meals alone a bit more healthy than the burger shop i used to eat at so often.

also, since i won’t be able to drive down to hb to workout with costin and dave anymore, look for a much buffer eric in 2008 :P

holy hell, noemie lenoir from rush hour 3 is hot

noemie lenoir

the wife had to work tonite, so i found myself drinking martinis, eating popcorn and watching rush hour 3 off of a cinemanow.com download. other than being one of don cheadle’s whores in after the sunset, she hasn’t been in any other american movies, but damn, she’s beautiful. even with her head shaved she looks fantastic and other than the very honorable mention of zizi zhang in rush hour 2, noemie is the hottest girl in the rush hour trilogy.

drew carey sucks as the host of the price is right

The Price is Right
i used to love watching the price is right when i was a kid playing hookie from school. i’d been waiting to see it hosted by drew carey for a while now and since i have this week off of work, i finally got a chance to see him. verdict = he sucks.

i know he’s new, so it might take some time for him to get settled in his role, but he’s super unenthusiastic, can’t remember his lines or what he’s supposed to do, and he’s fatter than his drew carey show days. the best part is that all the contestants keep accidentally calling him “bob.”

starbucks coffee at 24 hour fitness?

Starbucks+24 Hour Fitness= wtf?
the “sport” 24 hour fitness on bellflower now has a self-serve starbucks machine. it’s not next to the energy drink vending machines, but in the weight room, so there’s a nauseating mixture of coffee and sweat in the air. i get that caffeine = energy, but that’s what energy drinks are for. you can’t pound a cup of hot coffee like you can a redbull, and if you’re the guy walking around the gym daintily sipping your coffee you’re a douche. anyway i rarely go to that gym anyway, but i hope it’s not the start of a new trend.

call of duty 4: modern warfare

call of duty 4

i loved call of duty 2 and call of duty 3 was alright. call of duty 4 though… amazing. unlike previous cod games, *i don’t think* this is based off of any real wars or skirmishes, but it takes place mostly in the middle east and you’re usually shooting towel-head terrorists with today’s latest weaponry. the graphics are much better than previous games and the selection of modern weapons available make the game a lot more strategic.

the game also has online multi-player, so buy this game and let’s battle.

penny for my thoughts

Penny Small
i went to radio shack today and bought some connectors that were $2.99 and came out to $3.24 with tax. i gave the lady $3.25 and she then asked me if i needed my penny back. wtf is that? of course i didn’t need it, but i wanted it. the chick was cute and i didn’t wanna seem like a chump so i let her have it, but what kinda wack customer service is that?

$25 has been donated to the ASPCA on behalf of kentomatic

numbers don’t lie. you believe more in animals than you do in people, and at the rate society is going to hell, i really can’t blame you. 44% voted to donate to the aspca, so that’s where the money went today. all of the charities listed are important ones though, and i appeal to all of you to donate to them. the holidays are always a time when i reflect and realize how fortunate i am, and how easy it is to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

ASPCA donation
