in all fairness, lack of time has been playing just as big of a role, but the two kind of go hand-in-hand. anything interesting really can be said in 140 characters or less and that’s where our attention deficit disorder is taking us. i really don’t have time to spend more than 140 characters talking about what i’m doing, and that’s about as long as you can hold someone’s attention for these days. it’s a win-win situation for communication, but a slow death for this and all my other blogs. they actually are still making the same amount of money, but if i don’t dedicate some time to them they won’t be for long.

there are also so many different microblogging and social networking sites to keep friends and family up-to-date with. i post most of my pictures to flickr, my videos to youtube, general information on facebook, and my day-to-day life on twitter. once taka and the baby join me down here in dallas, i’m sure there’ll be more family stuff to talk about and neat experiences and places we find here that will be blog worthy. i’m definitely going to have to consolidate or reduce all my other blogs though, because there’s no way i’ll be able to keep up like i used to.

now that i have all of these blogs that are pretty much just assets and not sites that i necessarily enjoy writing for, it’s left little time to blog about the regular stuff that i used to on this blog. as much as i know this displeases ben, kentomatic has always for the most part been a correspondence blog, and now that my friends are more dispersed than ever, you’d think i’d be doing more corresponding, not less. i do a fair amount of micro-blogging on twitter, but only ben, eric, james and stephan are following me on that, so i need to start finding the time to turn those tweets into full articles… or you could just follow me on twitter :)

so on to some good ‘ole corresponding!

this weekend we’re going up to big bear to celebrate sanam’s birthday and (for me at least) get in the first snowboarding of the year. i didn’t get any snowboarding in last year, so i’m going to try to make up for it this year. taka obviously can’t go because of the baby in her belly, and who knows how busy i’ll be next year, so yeh, i’m really looking forward to this trip.

the following weekend us ishi’s and the campy’s are gonna drive up to santa barbara s2000 style, for a mini-vacation since taka can’t really do much traveling but we wanted to go somewhere. i assume like last year, we’re just gonna eat at fancy restaurants and chill out. hopefully the weather won’t be as cold or rainy as it’s been recently. and speaking of the s2000, yesterday Honda announced that it will *finally* end production of the s2000. for 10 freakin’ (awesome) years that car has been essentially the same.

(and i see the irony in using anchored text to my other blogs in this post =p)

I killed fishin-impossible.com, because eric and i don’t have enough fishing stories to populate a fishing blog, and it seems that advertisers aren’t too interested in poor fishermen. That was actually my 3rd oldest blog and yeh, I could never get it any higher than a page rank 3 and the traffic was dismal.

in an effort to expand the kentomatic empire, i’ve started two new fitness blogs:

lookatmymuscles.com will be a blog that focuses on techniques and random information and experience from regularly going to the gym for 6+ years. in just the few articles that i’ve written, i’ve found that this will be a very easy blog for me to write since going to the gym is the hobby i spend the most time doing.

maidofmuscle.com will be a fitness and health blog geared more towards women. since i obviously have less knowledge of a women’s take on the gym, this site will have general articles about women’s health and fitness, and i’ll hopefully get some of my female friends to write, or inspire articles for the site.

s2kblog.com has been very well received and readership for the site has been growing very quickly. this has been my most successful blog second to kentomatic.

fishin-impossible.com is a site that has lots of potential, but since eric and i haven’t been doing much fishing, (and when we do, haven’t been catching much fish) hasn’t had enough new information to make it interesting. hopefully eric and i will step up the fishing, or maybe take the site in a new direction.

i’m also looking to start a blog about restaurants in the southbay, since i eat out at least once or twice a week, and taka and i like trying new places. i also think i’ll employee her to translate in japanese and korean for the asian restaurants we go to, to expand readership and poke into a new market.
