eric sent me this link, and i joined the class action lawsuit by filling out the form online for taka’s engagement ring that i bought a couple of years ago. there’s only about $135 million to be dispersed, so who knows how much money i’ll actually get back. looks like it could be $1-2k, but i’m not holding my breath. if the diamond was less than $10,000 you don’t even need to have a receipt.

If you bought a piece of diamond jewelry — or jewelry with a diamond in it — between Jan. 1, 1994, and March 31, 2006, you may be eligible for a refund as part of a recent settlement of a class-action lawsuit alleging that De Beers, the big South African diamond company, had cornered the market for diamonds for decades, keeping prices artificially high.

In settling, De Beers is shelling out $295 million to put the trouble behind it — $135 million of which is earmarked for consumers rather than wholesalers.

jean’s company through a huge halloween party in venice on saturday. she works for a digital effects company and those hollywood-movie types had some crazy and creative costumes. ben and i went as the skipper and gilligan, a costume 27 years in the making. the party had free food, free cover (it was an invitee only thing) and best of all, open bar. i got pretty wasted really quick, and by the time i left i was stumbling to get to the car. taka had to work on sunday morning, so she was my designated driver.

we took tons of pics, and i’m sure both ben and costin will blog about and post their pics of the party.

it was nice to wear a costume where everybody recognized me and said hi, it was like i was famous. notice the sexy gogo dancers in the background:

these guys dressed up as the cast from family guy. when one of of them went to the bathroom, i had to try it on. notice, i’m still rocking the gilligan hat, so you know it’s me.

this steve urkel wouldn’t get out of character when i was trying to talk to him. it was annoyingly hilarious.

i bought a super sexy new reel as a wedding gift to myself. i figure i could use it on eric’s upcoming fishing trip, and i’ve been wanting a solid setup ever since i hooked into that monster halibut and my drag was giving me shit. but yeh, the 1-piece solid aluminum frame, extruded gear box (can’t really see it in the pic), milled speed holes, and oversized star drag… sex.

and when we were in harajuku last week, i bought some sexy shirts, and these oh-so-sexy shoes:
