Natasha Timarovic, 27, was cleaning her teeth at in her home in the Croatian city of Zadar when lightning struck the building.

She said: “I had just put my mouth under the tap to rinse away the toothpaste when the lightning must have struck the building.

“I don’t remember much after that, but I was later told that the lightning had travelled down the water pipe and struck me on the mouth, passing through my body.

“It was incredibly painful, I felt it pass through my torso and then I don’t remember much at all.” Doctors at the city hospital where she was treated for burns to the mouth and rear said: “The accident is bizarre but not impossible.”

She was wearing rubber bathroom shoes at the time and so instead of earthing through her feet it appears the electricity shot out of her backside,” a medic told local newspaper.

was fucking amazing. no details to follow ;)

taka and i took a half day today to meet up with shali and sanam at raging waters for shali’s birthday. the weather was perfect, and since it was a week day the lines were relatively short. in the 5 hours we were there we rode almost all the rides (i was too chicken to ride drop out but me and shal watched as taka and sanam did it). my favorite rides were the bermuda triangle and neptune’s fury although taka and shali were screaming like wild banshees the entire ride, and i had to take my hands off the handles to cover my ears and almost fell out =p afterwards we had dinner in san dimas before the long drive home. it was a great way to break up a boring week.

i bet she’s gonna disaprove of that title, since she’s terrified of birds, but whatever =p she was able to catch a flight on her korean airlines yesterday morning and arrived (well for her at least) before she left… that whole time travel thing f’s with your head, hear you me.

she had 5 big boxes, a suitcase, some of my golf clubs, a lamp and that awful aforementioned piano to bring. shipping for all of those items would have been about $2000 to the US from japan but her friends helped her out. on korean air the maximum luggage 1 person can have is two items, and the total of the two have to be under 23 kilos, which is like 55lbs or something. just that damn piano was well over that (and technically was also over the legal limit of a package on a commercial airline, but she had her manager look the other way). she had a whole bunch of her friends on the flight each check in a box and clear customs with it and they all met me infront of the airport. it all just barely fit in my mom’s suv.

so yep, this is the beginning. crazy stuff. taka’s gonna be in school here for the next month taking intensive english classes and is going to be going back to japan in mid-september to finish up preparations for the wedding, and i won’t see her then again until the wedding itself. i’m sure after living together for a month and a half, and then not seeing each other for a month will help make the whole wedding thing (and night) much more exciting ;)

we went to check out the ben ackerman band last night at dipiazzas. there were quite a few bands, mostly comprised of george bush-hating lesbian chicks and fatties playing indie music, but i had fun nonetheless :) yesterday was the president’s birthday and all of the lesbian groups took all kindsa lame shots at him. the really tall one was like “ooh, i wish i could just tear him apart with a garden hoe” and then some fattie from the audience was like “could we just use a dull spoon instead?” they were all also making speeches of how rich people are evil and unhappy. hating republicans and hating money… coincidence? naw.

and to start off the show, one of the girls was saying how we should all donate to this fund for some girl who just graduated college, but then got hit in the head with a slab of concrete. she lost some brain function and one eye, but she kept insisting on how beautiful she was. i’ve never seen a hot one eyed chick. except for peggy bundy’s character on futurama, but that’s different.

ben’s band sounded great though, and even his protest song is growing on me.

of all the cell phones our little crew had there, only mike’s verizon phone could get me onto the damn internet for me to make a bid on an ebay item i wanted. stupid cingular gprs… and i still didn’t win the item i come to find out.

we stuck around to listen to all the other lesbo bands and just dranks beers and had a good time.
