a murder of crows, a knot of toads… wtf?

eric and i were talking about a simpsons episode where homer was talking about a “murder of crows.” we weren’t sure if that was real, or just a homer-ism, so we looked it up. turns out that not only is a group of crows called a “murder” but there are hundreds of collective nouns that sound crazy and make no sense. sound intelligent to chicks in bars and learn them all.

here are some of my favorites:

bury of conies
cover of coots
passel of possum
rhumba of rattlesnakes
unkindness of ravens
mischief of rats

check out the entire list: [fun with words: collective nouns]
